This day 2 years a go was the day the government ordered soldiers to shoot peaceful protesters who were protesting for the end of SARS (Special Anti-robbery Squad) at Lekki tollgate Lagos This was known the Lekki Massacre.

SARS was known for a lot of brutality and wrongful profiling of young people as criminals.

For my foreign viewers who would like to learn more about the Lekki massacre, you can read the article by clicking the link below.

October 2020, which was a period of protests against SARS was a hard time emotionally for many people. It was for me and it’s something I don’t like to think of. It was really sad.

Today, I remember those that lost their lives on the 20th of October, 2020.

I also remember how the government gaslit the whole nation concerning what happened. They tried to make us believe that what people experienced and saw live was not real. It was crazy.

We don’t see any much change in Nigeria right now, but one day we will.

I still believe in this nation.

As usual, be a light in your space 💫
