    Day 90

I started reading ‘The Obstacle is the way’, a book by Ryan Holiday. I read a few things and I’d like to share. ‘The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.’ ‘The obstacle in the path becomes the path. Never forget, within every obstacle is an opportunity to improve our condition’. ‘There are a few things to keep in mind when faced with a seemingly insurmountable obstacle. We must try: To be objective To control emotions and keep an even keel To choose to see the good in a situation To steady our nerves To ignore what disturbs or limits others To place things in…

    Day 89

Sometimes, it takes someone getting you to speak out about your fears to let you know that you’re doing well. Sometimes, mentioning good things about a situation let’s you know that the situation isn’t as bad and in fact, it’s going the way it normally should.

    Day 88

I’ve realized that everyone has something they do really well. Some people do most things well, so their list is longer. I also notice that people think that because they do well in something that you fall short of, they are better than you. That’s true for that particular thing but that’s not true all round. I believe some people have more grace to do certain things than others. I’m not excusing complacency or stagnation. I’m simply saying we should be graceful in our speech and shouldn’t embarrass or ridicule someone because you’re better somewhere. If we place your life and theirs together with the circumstances and situations each has…

    Day 86 – Relax

I’m a to-do list kind of person, it keeps me on track so I know what to do. Today, I had a lot to do but my family had other plans. It’s either I’m helping my mom to do something or my brother or my sister or my dad. Usually, I’d be a bit frustrated because I haven’t ticked off a few things and here I was busy with other things. However, I was the opposite. I dunno what changed but I actually wasn’t bothered about my list and my mind was in all I did for my family, without thinking of the things I had to do. The day…

    Day 85

You can’t come and kill yourself. 😂😂😂 To my non-Nigerian readers, it simply means you can’t be stressed by things you can’t exactly control.

    Day 84

We all like attention, even though it’s a little bit of it. This makes us want to be heard, to be seen, to be appreciated. That’s not bad on it’s own. However, today, I learned that when you focus on people and not think of yourself, it produces results and you’re even happy with yourself. Eventually, you’d see these people pay attention to you also. Be there for people; especially people you care about and matter to you. I’m not saying you should let people belittle and step on you. No. I hope you understand what I mean.

    Day 83

I’m learning that some things will never make sense until much later and that’s fine. You don’t have to know everything or understand everything. Sometimes understanding comes with time and experience. My prayer is that we receive wisdom to discern what steps to take.

    Day 81

Learning that real life practical is harder than theory. You know what to do in certain situations until it actually happens to you. Emotions come in. Things happen. Even if you’re so knowledgeable in certain situations, except you’ve gone through it severally, you’ll never be as prepared as completely prepared.

Day 80 – Enjoy the moment

They say there are optimists and there are pessimistic but there are realists too that most times tend towards pessimism. I’m the latter and it can be hard to be hopeful sometimes. Something about being hopeful is the fact that when things don’t work out, it just hurts more and not being too hopeful protects and cushions whatever pain or disappointment ahead. Because of this, I tend to not enjoy things because I sometimes think about when it’ll be over. Going through certain things in life can do that to someone. Thank God I’m getting better and I’m learning more and more to enjoy the moment, they make beautiful memories.
