God has you in mind – the greatest love story

Everyone should know what Jesus Christ did for them and that they can walk in that reality when they believe. Christ finished work. It’s beautiful the kind of love, access, privilege and power that is available all in the name of Jesus.
It’s such a beautiful love story that just gets better the more you grow in the knowledge of God. God really had us in mind and had a fail-proof plan after the fall of man.
Man fell in the Garden of Eden. As a result, man became far from God. This was not the original plan. God’s will was for man and God to have an intimate relationship, but that fall resulted in the separation of man from God. Not only was man separated, death came in with other consequences of sin.
To meet up and attain righteousness, man had to work by trying to keep the law. Where they sinned, an atonement sacrifice was made because the consequence of sin is death and blood had to pay. They tried so much but it was clear that no one was perfect enough to keep the law. This was a problem. No one could really attain righteousness by their own good deeds (or works). Have you tried to be perfect by obeying the law? Were you able to keep up?
This is where the good news comes…
God being a just, yet merciful God thought of something. He had this plan in place even before man fell because He loves man. He wasn’t the one at fault, yet He found a way to reconcile man to Himself.
As a result of God’s love for man, Jesus came down to Earth in human form (do you know how huge that is?). Knowing the price of sin is death (blood has to be paid), He gave Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. So your sins were forgiven because Jesus Christ, who is God, gave His life in place of yours. You were no longer condemned.
It didn’t just end there, not only did the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross clear your sins, it gave you righteousness you could never have worked for even if you obeyed all the law there is (which is impossible btw).
As a result of Christ’s sacrifice, your sins were cleared and forgiven, you also became righteous automatically and didn’t have to do anything to get that righteousness, neither do you have to do anything to maintain it because it’s not about your works. It was a gift given to you. Now you can draw near to God with no barrier whatsoever. Isn’t that awesome?
It gets better.
Not only were all these available, you also have access to the Spirit of God, not just access, but that Spirit dwells in you. Do you know how much big of a deal that is?? To have the Spirit of the Almighty God living and dwelling in you??? That’s awesome!! Guess what? That Spirit also empowers you to do good work and this time, not to attain righteousness, but as a result of the new life in Christ. Because of Christ, you now do good works.
Only a good and kind God can come up with a beautiful plan for salvation that doesn’t even require so much effort from you and not just that, He empowers you to do good works not from a place of seeking to be righteous but from a place of, now this is who you are, so act like it. I think it’s beautiful.
You know the amazing thing to accepting all that is available in Christ? It’s not some hurdle or very strange and deep task. It’s only to believe that Jesus Christ died, was buried and resurrected to give you this life. Only believe.
The Bible sums it up in John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:16-17 NKJV
Jesus loves you so much and He has proven it. All you have to do is believe.
Only believe.
